Reservations
A 50% deposit of the yacht fee is required to reserve the boat and dates of your choice. Upon receipt of your reservation deposit (and boating resume, if bareboat), a charter contract will be issued, and your charter dates confirmed. The balance of all charter fees, with the exception of the security deposit, is due 45 days prior to your date of departure. Security deposits may be paid at the time of departure. ANY FUNDS DUE AT THE TIME OF DEPARTURE MUST BE PAID IN CASH, TRAVELERS CHECKS, OR CERTIFIED BANK CHECK.
Security Deposits & Mandatory Maintenance Fee
The purchase of a mandatory non-refundable Maintenance Fee is required with all charters. The Maintenance Fee is $49.95 per day. The Maintenance Fee helps to pay for maintenance, damage, or loss to the vessel and its equipment. The security deposit on all vessels is $5,000.00 per charter, $1,000.00 of the security deposit must be paid in Cash, Certified Bank Check or Wire Transfer. The other $4,000.00 portion of the security deposit will be taken as a Pre-Authorization hold on your major credit card. A lost or stolen dinghy is not covered by the yacht’s insurance. A submerged, lost, or stolen outboard motor is not covered by the yacht’s insurance. If the CHARTERER takes an outboard and/or dinghy, CHARTERER agrees to be responsible for full replacement cost. The yachts insurance does not cover any damage to sails due to severe misuse by charterer, as determined by third party sail maker. The charterer is responsible for any and all damage to the vessel and its equipment while in his possession. The security deposit, minus any deductions, will be returned within 10 days after the satisfactory return of the vessel.
Cancellation Policy
For Overnight Charters If you cancel more than forty-five days prior to your date of departure, we will refund all monies received less $500.00 administrative fee. Cancellation less than forty-five days before your date of departure will result in the forfeiture of all monies received by Fun In The Sun Yacht Charters.
For All Day Sails If you cancel more than thirty days prior to your date of departure, we will refund all monies received. Cancellation less than thirty days before your date of departure will result in a $150.00 cancellation fee.
Tropical Disturbance Policy
Fun In The Sun Yacht Charters does not guarantee any destination and all charter itineraries are subject to change due to weather conditions. In the event of charter postponement or interruption due to a tropical disturbance, a credit will be issued to the charterer. The credit will be equal to the amount received for said charter or, for the portion of said charter, and will only be redeemable for goods and services offered by Fun In The Sun Yacht Charters. The credit will be valid for up to 1 year from the original date of charter and will be subject to availability. The Tropical Disturbance Policy is ONLY applicable in the event of a tropical disturbance. Bad weather such as, but not limited to, fronts, northerlies, and tropical waves are not covered under the Tropical Disturbance Policy. A tropical disturbance is defined as either a tropical storm or hurricane as determined by the National Oceanographic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The seriousness of the tropical disturbance and the application of the Tropical Disturbance Policy will be determined by the management of Fun In The Sun Yacht Charters.
Bad Weather Policy for Day Sails Only
In the event of bad weather such as, but not limited to, fronts, northerlies, and tropical waves which are not covered under the Tropical Disturbance Policy an effort will be made by Fun In The Sun Yacht Charters to reschedule your day sail but this is not guaranteed since availability may be limited. Once the vessel leaves the dock with the client and his / her party aboard, there are no refunds or rainchecks. Application of Bad Weather Policy will be determined solely by the management of Fun In The Sun Yacht Charters.
